PFERD abrasives and cutting products — a German brand specialising in tools for metal surface finishing.

In stock:

• Cutting discs — EHT range, thin 1.0–1.6 mm. Sizes 4 inch (105 mm) and 5 inch (125 mm). The thinner the disc, the faster the cut and the less burr.
• Grinding discs — E range, 6.3–7.2 mm thick. Sizes 4, 5, 6 and 7 inch. For grinding down weld seams and levelling joints.
• Wire brushes — PBU range in stainless steel, 0.3 mm wire. Removes rust, weld slag and oxide layers.

Reading the code: e.g. EHT 125-1,0 PSF STEELOX — 125 mm disc, 1.0 mm thick, PSF line, suitable for both steel and stainless steel (STEELOX).

Choosing the right disc for stainless steel: discs for ordinary steel often contain iron, sulphur and chlorine — using them on stainless steel leaves contaminants that cause rust later. Always use a disc clearly marked for stainless steel (INOX or STEELOX).

Safety: always check that the maximum speed marked on the disc is higher than the grinder's speed, and never use a cutting disc for side grinding — cutting discs are not designed to take side loads.
