Maintenance tool

Specialist tools for mounting, dismounting and condition monitoring of bearings done correctly. Most premature bearing failures come from incorrect mounting, not from bearing quality.

Main groups:

  • Measurement and diagnostic equipment — CMVA vibration meters, TKTL thermometers, TKSA shaft alignment tools, TKRS stroboscopes. Used to detect faults before an unplanned stoppage.
  • Bearing pullers — TMMA, TMMD, TMHP series. Using the right puller avoids damaging the shaft and bearings that are still serviceable.
  • Bearing heaters — TIH, TWIM series. Induction heating for hot mounting, replacing torch heating or oil baths that damage the material.
  • Grease guns and lubrication tools — TLGB, LAGH, TLGH.
  • Feeler gauge sets — TMAS series, for checking spherical roller bearing clearance before and after mounting.

Golden rule of mounting: the mounting force must go through the ring with the tight fit — press on the inner ring when mounting onto a shaft, on the outer ring when mounting into a housing. Driving force through the rolling elements is the number-one cause of new bearings failing early.

Terminology: in Vietnamese, bearings are called vòng bi, bạc đạn or ổ bi — all the same product. DAVITA uses "vòng bi" consistently on its Vietnamese pages.
